ABOUT
THE ARTIST
Judith Johnson is a native of Washington, DC. She grew up in a home of gospel singers, with gospel quartet programs and choir rehearsals a fixture of her weekends. She especially enjoyed the Hawkins Singers, and James Cleveland. She showed musical talent at an early age, singing on multiple choirs at her home church, Springfield Baptist Church in Washington, DC. She still remembers her first solo—“God Gave Me a Song”—at the age of 8.
She is an anointed singer who leads praise and worship at Springfield Baptist Church and regularly sings at many churches in the Washington, DC area. She has sung for Congressional Black Caucus, Mayor of Washington, D.C., and other special events.
Judith loves worship, and wants to use her voice to bring others closer to God. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 46:10 (He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth”).
Judith is a devoted wife, mother of three, and grandmother.
